Public information

Transparency in the planning and approval process and the incorporation of the public in the project are both very important to MVK. Since 2017, MVK has been informing the public, particularly the local residents, about the specific plans. Many interested residents visited the information events in 2018 and 2019. MVK, together with the MVK Environmental Advisory Council, represented by Chairman Dr. Stefan Anderssohn, issued the invitations. In 2020, due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, events in this format were cancelled in order to protect visitors as well as the employees of MVK. An information event is planned for autumn 2021, subject to the Corona infection scenario in and around Kiel as well as the current statutory regulations at that time.

In addition, the citizens of Kiel were provided with plant information via the meetings of the MVK Environmental Advisory Council, presentations of MVK at the local advisory council, or contributions in the public media, such as the daily and local newspapers of Kiel.
